How much does SEO
cost in Dallas?

Most DFW businesses pay $1,500 to $5,500 a month for SEO done properly. Here is what moves the price, what each budget buys and how to spot cheap SEO.

The short answer

Most Dallas–Fort Worth businesses pay between $1,500 and $5,500 a month for SEO that is done properly. A single-location business in a less contested category can do well at the low end. A business competing in Dallas proper, or across several suburbs, in a category like personal injury, roofing or cosmetic dentistry usually needs the upper end or more.

Those are the ranges we publish on our pricing page, and they are in line with what serious agencies charge across the Metroplex. Anything far below them usually means something important is being skipped.

What actually drives the price in DFW

SEO is priced by the amount of work it takes to move your rankings, and in Dallas that work varies more than in most markets. Five things decide where you land.

  • How contested your category is. Ranking a plumber in Wylie is a different job from ranking a personal injury firm in Uptown. The more businesses already investing in SEO for your searches, the more content, links and local signals it takes to pass them.
  • How many places you need to rank. DFW is not one market. A business that wants to show up in Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen needs coverage in each of those areas, not just near its address.
  • How many locations you have. Each location has its own Google Business Profile, reviews and map rankings to manage.
  • The state of your website. A slow site with thin service pages needs fixing before SEO can compound. A clean, fast site lets the budget go straight into growth.
  • Whether you want AI search covered. Getting cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews takes structured data, entity work and answer-ready content on top of traditional SEO.

What each budget level usually buys

$1,500–2,500 a month covers one channel run properly. For most local businesses that means local SEO: Google Business Profile management, a review system, on-page fixes, a few new or improved service pages each month and live reporting. It works well when you serve one area and the competition is moderate.

$3,000–5,500 a month is where most Dallas businesses see the fastest results, because two or three channels work together. A typical program combines local SEO with paid search and content, so ads produce calls while organic rankings build.

$6,000–12,000+ a month is for businesses competing across the whole Metroplex, multi-location brands and the most contested categories. It adds more content, digital PR and link building, conversion work and AI search optimization.

What you should get for the money

Whatever you pay, a real SEO program in Dallas should include:

  • A full audit before work starts, with the problems ranked by impact.
  • Call and form tracking, so you can see leads, not just traffic.
  • Map rankings measured across your whole service area, not checked from your own office.
  • A steady flow of new, useful pages that answer the questions your customers ask.
  • A review system that stays inside Google's policies.
  • A monthly report that ties the work to calls, booked jobs or patients.

Warning signs of cheap SEO

Offers of $300 or $500 a month are common in DFW. They rarely include anything that moves rankings in a competitive market. Watch for:

  • Guaranteed rankings. No one controls Google. A guarantee usually means they will rank you for a search nobody makes.
  • Reports full of traffic and impressions but no calls, forms or booked work.
  • Long contracts with no way out if results do not show up.
  • Bulk links or fake reviews. Both can get a Google Business Profile suspended.

Is SEO worth it for a Dallas business?

Work backward from what a customer is worth. If one new client brings in $3,000 over a year, a $2,500 monthly program needs roughly one extra customer a month to pay for itself. Most businesses that rank in the Dallas map pack for their main service get far more than that. We break this down by industry in what ranking is worth, and we explain how to set a budget in what a marketing budget should actually be.

SEO also compounds. Paid ads stop the day you stop paying. Rankings, reviews and content keep producing leads for years, which is why most of our clients run both and shift budget toward SEO as it matures.

Common questions

How long does SEO take to work in Dallas?

Most businesses see movement in the map pack within two to three months and meaningful organic growth within four to six months. Highly contested categories in Dallas proper can take longer. That is why we pair SEO with paid search for businesses that need calls right away.

Is local SEO cheaper than regular SEO?

Usually, yes. Local SEO for one location in one area is the lower end of the range. Ranking statewide or nationally, or across many DFW suburbs, takes more content and links and costs more.

Do you charge setup fees?

Most retainers have a one-time onboarding fee that covers the audit, tracking setup and the first round of fixes. It is quoted up front, and retainers are month-to-month after onboarding.
